Yesterday 9 June, the foreign ministries of Estonia and Colombia held political consultations in Tallinn.
The Estonian delegation was led by Liis Lipre-Järma, Director General of the NATO and Transatlantic Relations Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Colombian delegation was led by Patricia Cortés, European Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Colombia.
The political consultations focused on global security issues, boosting cooperation between the two countries in international organisations, digital and cyber cooperation, strengthening economic relations, and intensifying tourism and cultural cooperation. Cooperation in the field of language learning was also discussed.
“I am very glad that as early as this autumn, with the support of Colombia, Estonian officials will be able to start their Spanish language studies in Tallinn – a good opportunity to strengthen the ties between our countries,” Lipre-Järma said, referring to the proposal of the Colombian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to post a Spanish language teacher to Estonia this year.
