Tsahkna: new US military rotation in Estonia confirms strong defence cooperation with the United States

Today, 6 November, Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna said that the arrival of a new US military rotation in Estonia strengthens peace and security in our region.

“The new US military rotation in Estonia confirms that our defence cooperation with the United States is strong and that activities within NATO are continuing according to the plans already in place,” Tsahkna said. “Allied forces in Estonia strengthen peace and security in our region, as their presence is a significant deterrent. At the same time, Estonia offers Allies excellent training opportunities, which strengthen the defence readiness of the entire Alliance,” Tsahkna said.

“For Estonia, the US presence here, as well as US security assistance to the Baltic States, is very important. It is a cornerstone of NATO’s deterrence and defence posture, demonstrating the Allies’ readiness and unity in defending Allied territory,” Tsahkna noted.

A unit from Apache Troop, 5th Squadron, 4th Cavalry Regiment of the US Army, has arrived in Estonia.
