Ministry of Foreign Affairs Secretary General Jonatan Vseviov was in Berlin today, 17 March, where he attended
the Europe 2026 conference and met with representatives of the German Federal Foreign Office and the Federal Chancellery.
At the Europe 2026 conference, Secretary General Vseviov spoke in a panel focused on strengthening national resilience through the application of digital solutions, in particular in the protection of critical infrastructure.
The visit also included meetings with German Federal Foreign Office Minister of State Florian Hahn, Head of the European Policy Division at the Federal Chancellery Michael Clauss, and other key figures. The discussions centred on strengthening European security and transatlantic relations.
Secretary General Vseviov commended his German colleagues for their leading role in enhancing Europe’s defence capabilities and for their contribution to the defence of NATO’s eastern flank. Vseviov noted that the cornerstone of European security remains the consistent and comprehensive support of Ukraine, and that European support for Ukraine must therefore remain unwavering.
The meetings also addressed ways to increase political and economic pressure on Russia, including through tightening sanctions, imposing movement restrictions on Russian combatants, countering the activities of the shadow fleet, and implementing accountability mechanisms. Opportunities to further develop bilateral cooperation between Estonia and Germany were also discussed.
