An evening with Estonian writer Ilmar Taska took place at the Estonian Embassy in Copenhagen on October 29. Writer Ilmar Taska’s two fictional works titled “Better than life” and “Pobeda 1946” have been translated to Danish. Taska, translator Birgita Bonde Hansen, and publishing house Jensen & Dalgaard introduced the two books and our guests fond out about Taska’s connection to Denmark and discussed how Danish readers understand the after Second World War period in Estonia.

Birgita Bonde Hansen has translated from Estonian several Estonian authors – R.Raud, A.Kivirähk, M.Friedenthal, I.Taska. There is more to come – M.Mutt ja J.Kaplinski!
